QuickRide Ghana — Smart Transit Ticketing

QuickRide was rebuilt from the ground up to modernize a previously outdated transport booking experience. The focus was a cleaner interface, frictionless route discovery, and an easier path to ticket purchase. The platform helps passengers search routes, choose travel dates, and book bus seats without long station queues.

QuickRide Ghana — Smart Transit Ticketing

The Challenge

The original platform was dated, causing high drop-off rates due to complex navigation and slow load times. Commuters in Ghana were still largely relying on physical station visits to secure tickets, leading to congestion and uncertainty.

The Solution

I implemented a Next.js-based frontend optimized for mobile performance, using Tailwind CSS for a modern, high-contrast UI. I simplified the booking flow into a three-step process: Search, Select, and Pay. The system integrates with local transport APIs to provide live upcoming bus schedules and automated route updates.

Impact

  • Zero-Queue Booking: Transitioned thousands of users from physical queues to 100% online booking.
  • Navigation Efficiency: Reduced the average booking time from 4 minutes on the legacy site to under 60 seconds.
  • Trusted Partnerships: Successfully onboarded multiple industry-leading bus operators who now rely on the platform as their primary digital channel.
